Justice for Angie
In a surprisingly fast deliberation, the jury in the Angie Zapata murder case found Allen Andrade guilty on all counts - first degree murder, bias-motivated crime against a transgender person, aggravated theft, and identity theft. He was almost immediately sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
As far as I know, this is the first time someone in the U.S. has been convicted of a hate crime for the killing of a trans woman.
I'm doing something I don't usually do by posting this from work so I'll leave it at this and write more later when I get home.
